Manga Impact The World of Japanese Animation

Very accessible a to z of random highlights from an enormous universe. good for getting clued in on some new fictions, but by no means an overview. If, like me, you are almost totally ignorant about this stuff and don't care for most of it, you will find a few things to track down.

editor of wired's ESSENTIAL threat level, Poulsen turns a gifted hacker's credit card network into a competent novel. Glenny offers a much weaker book on same milieu. Some interesting tangents about secure communications, but, of itself, the sociology of compulsive credit robbers is really not all that revelatory. The Bamford book, about the NSA/ATandT merger, is well researched, well presented, soberly fascinating.

alcoholic planets, love raked over the coals, a fishbowl and concentric crimes, erratic multiplication tables, a branch of light doom, winds of torrential jewelry.

so i went to Holiday Havoc and it was OK- a lot of people there, you could tell they don't get out too much. Middle Class Rut was really loud for just being two guys. it's a drag that most bands big enough to play The Joint are so silly, cause the sound in there is physically in yer chest loud. That shit is good for you. People should be forced to go see concerts like they are forced to go to high school.
